Fog and Pumpkins on Pisgah
After a cup of tea at home, I headed to Pisgah on a warm, clear and sunny October Thursday leaving the North TH around 9:00. The hike itself was a typical Pisgah round-about and up / over. Wildlife was sparse – even the birds – a couple of turkey vultures, a red-tail hawk and the expected song birds.
Trail conditions were dry, dusty and hard for October. Human traffic was sparse as well except around the summit.
As I headed out, the moisture stuck to every spider-web on the hill …
Early fog and clouds put on a show at the summit emphasizing Fall is here.
If you still weren’t convinced about Fall, coyote poo is pumpkin! A sure sign of Fall.
The Route was a typical Pisgah ramble around avoid the humans … about 16 miles and 3x to the summit made for a pretty good October 1!
