Hazy, smokey Pisgah
That was the view from Pisgah cross the valley to Spencer Butte.
Three of us – partner, her sister and I – considered a quick Spencer Butte jaunt, but decided Pisgah would be better – fewer people, more trail options and safer parking. We parked in north TH around 9:00 and headed up trail 3 until the ‘summit’ trail, then to the summit and back same way.
Human traffic was light on the way up but on the down, people and dogs were everywhere. Contrastingly to Spencer Butte hikes, all the dogs were on leashes! Yahoo!
The atmosphere was the photo star on this hike. To the west, wet fall weather front was clearly coming across the Pacific, and to the east smoke from Emigrant fire was sliding down into the valley.
Once back home, the smoke slid all the way down to the floor and we had a smokey afternoon – one of the worst this summer.
For the data geeks …

Sorry we don’t have the mountains here but we also don’t have smoke! See you soon.
